CHICAGO — It is currently unclear exactly what is happening at the Chicago Dirksen Federal Building after the entire structure was evacuated around 3:00 pm. Officials first placed the building on lockdown after which it was swiftly evacuated.


This incident began Tuesday morning when a man calmly entered the public lobby and demanded to speak with FBI agents. There were no civilians in the lobby at the time. The situation quickly escalated into a lockdown. Hours later after the building was cleared for safety, US Marshals assisted employees in exiting the premises.
