CHICAGO, IL Chicago Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33rd Ward) has initiated legal proceedings against fellow Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th Ward) over social media posts that she claims falsely associate her and her staff with a recent deadly shooting in Washington, D.C.

The controversy centers around a photo shared by Lopez on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, which features members of the United Working Families political organization, including Rodriguez-Sanchez and her former chief of staff, Chris Poulos.

Lopez's post, accompanied by the caption "birds of a feather," allegedly insinuates a connection between these individuals and Elias Rodriguez, the suspect in the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staff members in Washington, D.C.
